Let’s Talk Hair: Kérastase PARIS Réflection Line

KerastaseBain Chroma CaptiveChroma Captive MasqueFondant Chroma Captive

As long as I can remember, I’ve experimented with my hair. Remember ‘sun-in’? Oh yeah! I was 10 when I tried that trend lol. Now as an adult my hair will go though phases just as the seasons change. Summer it’s balayage while through the winter I switch back to my natural, dark hair. I find that as I dye or bleach my hair, I lose moisture and shine overtime, and my colour tends to fade, especially if I am not using the right products.

Over the years, I’ve learned some tips and tricks on how to maintain my colour while keeping my hair as healthy as possible. As much as I love the Kevin Murphy line, Kérastase Paris has done wonders to my hair.

The Réflection Bain Chroma Captive is my go-to when it comes to maintaining and protecting my hair colour. It cleanses and smoothes the hair while adding shine and I love that you don’t need a lot for a great lather.

Because I colour my hair quite often, I love using masques to treat my hair. I apply the Réflection Masque Chroma Captive after using the Réflection Bain Chroma Captive and leave it on for about 10 minutes so my hair can reap all of it’s benefits. Not only does it add shine, it also prolongs my hair colour. I found that this specific masque also added more hydration to my strands so once my hair was styled, it looked healthier and fuller.

Another product that I love within the Réflection line is the Fondant Chroma Captive. It’s a rinse out treatment that protects your colour-treated hair. I usually use this when I feel that my hair doesn’t need an intense masque or when I just want to use a lighter treatment for that extra boost of shine.

And that’s it. My secret’s out! These are honestly one of the best investments you can make for your hair, especially if you are looking to maintain your hair colour.

Head over to Kérastase to see how other fans of this line are loving these products. You can check out my previous review on another line from Kérastase here.

Hair Love: The Chronologiste Line Review

 Kerastase 1
From left to right:
Essential Balm Treatment | Revitalizing Shampoo
Revitalizing Exfoliating Care | Parfum En Huile Chronologiste
You know that feeling when you walk out of the salon with freshly done hair? That’s exactly how I feel at home after using the Kérastase Chronologiste line. Seriously. My hair smells incredible and feels even healthier after the first use. Mind you my hair is in amazing shape to begin with. Everyone and their mother knows how much hair care is important to me. 🙂
I truly believe that if you invest in the right products your hair will reap the benefits and it will show. Plus your hair is your best accessory. So you can imagine my excitement when I got the chance to try out these 4 products.
Here’s what I thought about each product:

Kérastase Chronologiste Revitalizing Exfoliating Care:

What it is: Applied before the cleanser, this exfoliant intensely tones, detoxifies, purifies and cleans the scalp and the hair fiber. This also multiplies the effects of the subsequent treatments, from the shampoo to the final touch.

My first impression was, “What? Do I really need to exfoliate my scalp and hair before shampooing? Isn’t a shampoo enough?” I am the type of girl that likes to keep it simple especially when it comes to a routine; less is more. After applying it to my hair and rinsing it out I loved the results. My scalp and hair felt a lot cleaner and was ready for the next step: shampoo.

Kérastase Chronologiste Revitalizing Bain Shampoo:

What it is: It’s purifying action cleanses scalp impurities as it smoothes the hair fiber. This cleanser combines smoothness and nutrition and it envelops the hair while remaining supple and soft.

This shampoo is amazing. After the exfoliating, I applied a small amount to my damp hair and made sure to massage it throughout. When my hair felt clean I rinsed out the product and could feel a bit of a difference when comparing it to my other shampoo. My hair felt really clean. I also noticed once my hair was styled it didn’t get as oily as it has after a day of not washing it and my hair smelled so good. I would definitely recommend this.

Onto to the next step. 🙂

Kérastase Chronologiste Essential Balm Treatment:

What it is: This Balm intensely nourishes the hair from scalp to ends. Its exceptional formula smoothens and replenishes the hair fiber. The scalp is revitalized. The hair looks and feels sumptuously gorgeous, with an incomparable cosmetic touch.

This has always been my favourite step in the hair care regimen. You get to treat and replenish your hair from sun damage or through the use of harsh hair products. This balm is the best I’ve ever had. You don’t need to use a lot too, which is great. Apply walnut sized amounts over the lengths and ends of the hair and leave it on for 5 to 10 minute. Rinse. Let me tell you this product makes a huge difference with the texture, feel and look. My hair was softer, smoother and shinier.

Once I blow dried my hair, I could see the impact of how all three of these products worked together. It really enhanced what I already had and then some!

Lastly:

Kérastase Parfum En Huile Chronologiste:

What it is: It adds shine and softness. This luxury perfume envelops the hair in a sensual and subtle fragrance for a long-lasting sensorial experience. Intensely scented and visibly nourished, the hair is radiantly lovely.

I call this the finishing touches to your hair. Once your hair is blow dried and styled, dispense about 1–2 pumps into your hands. Rub them together and distribute the oil through your dry hair. I normally apply this through the mid length to the ends of my hair. I personally loved the scent and it finished my hair off with a shiny, healthy look.

Now I understand why celebs are raving over Kérastase. It’s the real deal, especially the Chronologiste line. For all those asking, these products are suitable for all hair types and their main aim is towards total hair and scalp renewal. It delivers above and beyond to help your hair look and feel it’s absolute best! I am now a huge fan. You definitely have to try this out if you haven’t already.
