8 Ways To Update Your Look For Winter

1. Add a lip liner. (Charlotte Tilbury) I love experimenting when it comes to makeup. This winter I added a lip liner to my routine to change it up. I adore this one from Charlotte Tilbury. It adds a bit of mystery and makes your lips look fuller without looking too obvious.

2. Nail colour. (OPI) Goodbye neutrals, hello deep reds and dark purples! I love these two from OPI (here + here). These will compliment everyone’s skin tone.
3. Hats. Beanies & felt hats are a great way to keep your look polished while staying warm. Pretty much obsessed with these (here + here + here)
4. Change up your scent. (Gucci Bamboo or Armani Si) As the cold season rolls in, I like to switch up my perfume and scope out newly released scents. This time of the year it’s good to switch to scents that are strong yet feminine.
5. Add a wool coat. (Burberry) Along with cozy knits, a wool coat is a great way to change up your wardrobe. Not only does it keep you warm on those cold days, but it’s the main piece to your outfit while outdoors. I am loving these found here, here and here.
6. Darken your brows. (Tarte) Eyebrows really define your face and sporting a darker brow adds more structure and drama. I highly recommend this pencil from Tarte or Anastasia Brow Powder Duo.
7. Scarves + Belts. (Lord and Taylor) Taking this style cue from one of my favourite style icons Olivia Palermo! Grab a printed scarf, add a simple skinny belt and belt it around your waist over the scarf. This accentuates your waistline while adding some dimension to your outfit. I am loving this scarf from Lord and Taylor (here + here) or this limited edition one from Burberry.
8. Sugar Lip Polish. One of those simple things that we sometimes forget to do is exfoliate our lips during the dry winter months. Add this to your daily routine and your lips will feel incredibly soft and smooth. One of my personal favourites! 🙂

Winter Warm

It’s starting to get super chilly in Toronto! Considering we’ve only had a couple of snowfalls I was more than happy to pull out my favorite new coat from J. Crew. I may sound a bit insane with welcoming the cold weather, but I love wearing layers and boots around this time of the year. The coat I am wearing is from the Petite line from J. Crew. I was so impressed at how tailored the jacket is. It fits perfectly and I can’t tell you how hard it is to find a coat that fits right. Pairing my coat with these boots from Stuart Weitzman was a no brainer. It completed my outfit while keeping me warm and stylish; the perfect combination for winter. 🙂

What was your favorite purchase this season? Do share. Have a great weekend! xo

Plaid + Ripped Skinnies

I am a sucker for a good pair of ripped jeans. I will admit that this has become a new obsession. I’ve joined the bandwagon! I find that a pair of jeans can make the outfit especially when they’re a great fit and feel perfect; not that stiff kind of feeling.
I was on the look out for skinny jeans with ripped details for awhile now and am happy to say these are my favorite find! American Eagle online carries tailored sizes unlike in store. The ones I bought were ‘short’ which is perfect for me because I don’t need to drop by a tailor and get them hemmed. If you’re ‘tall’ they also offer that option with your normal sizing. Win win!
The jeans I am wearing are actually made from recycled coffee grounds. Not only are these incredibly comfortable, they’re equally trendy and great for the environment! You can literally wear these with anything. For that dress down look, throw on a pair of slip on sneakers and a sweater and you’re all set. To dress them up, you can add a pair of heels with a long sleeve shirt, fur vest and sunnies. Add a clutch and you’re ready for a night on the town!
My rule has always been try on several pairs of jeans until you find your perfect match! It is an investment piece and great for your wardrobe. Once you find ‘the pair’ you’ll understand my excitement. 🙂
I am always on the lookout for different styles of jeans. What are your favorites? Please share below. xo
